  14. MailTheLog is an application that mails a sysop the contents
  15. of any file on a daily basis. This is intended for sysops
  16. who, for example, log in remotely, and want the log files
  17. in their mailbox - to read, and delete.
  18.  
  19. MailTheLog must be part of the TabbyNet event chain (preferably
  20. as one of the last applications). It looks at any number
  21. of files, mails their content to any person on the BBS system,
  22. and deletes the file. It 'mails' by adding to the generic import
  23. file, and is therefore BBS independent.

  25. To set it up, copy it to the folder where your BBS and tabby
  26. applications reside. Using ResEdit, modify the following
  27. resources:

  29. STR 1 The name of your BBS application. This is the name of
  30. the application MailTheLog tries to launch when it cannot
  31. find the launch.next file, or when it cannot launch the next
  32. application in the event chain.
  33. STR 2 The pathname to the tabby work files, such as Generic
  34. Import.
  35. STR 3 The name to be used in the "From:" field of the mail 
  36. message. Leave this what it is.
  37. STR 4 The name to be used in the "To:" field of the mail
  38. message. If you don't want the mail to go to the sysop,
  39. change this STR resource.

  41. STR# 1 This STR# resource contains the pathnames of the log
  42. files to be mailed.
